Students Explore Future Pathways at PwC’s ‘One Firm One Day’ Careers Event ( Published: 17/07/2025)

A group of students recently visited The Sharp Project in Manchester, a vibrant hub for digital media, film, and creative technology. The visit, hosted by SharpFutures, offered students a behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s most exciting creative digital centres.

Home to over 60 companies – including content creators for brands like JD Sports, the BBC, and Netflix – gave students a unique opportunity to explore real-world careers in media, production, and digital technology.

During the visit, students:

  • Took part in a guided tour of the studios and production spaces
  • Met professionals working in TV, film, gaming, and digital marketing
  • Learned about career pathways in the creative industries, including apprenticeships and work experience opportunities
  • Discovered how SharpFutures supports young people into employment through training, mentoring, and real-world projects

The visit also supported students in achieving key Gatsby Benchmarks for career education, including encounters with employers, workplace experiences, and learning about the labour market.

We’re proud of our students for demonstrating our REACH value of ambition, and we thank SharpFutures and The Sharp Project for such an inspiring and informative experience.

The Sharp Project is literally five minutes away from my house. I had no idea there were jobs like that available right next to where I live.
