Spanish students at The Box Theatre in Bury, in January 2023

MFL Cinema Trip to See Pan’s Labyrinth ( Published: 31/01/2023)

As part of the school’s vision to equip students with the skills, abilities, attributes and qualifications to be active, global citizens, we took fourteen Year 10 Spanish students to see the highly acclaimed Spanish film, Pan’s Labyrinth.

The first Comino Foundation MFL film club screening took place on Monday the 23rd January 2023 at The Box Theatre in Bury. Mr Ross and Miss Capuano took fourteen students to attend and represent our school’s Key Stage 4 Spanish department, as part of a project of cultural knowledge and enrichment that would open students’ minds and worlds to the potentials and possibilities of language learning.

It was fantastic to see TEMA students engage so enthusiastically, with a film from a different culture and in a different language, and particularly to see that almost all of them understood much of the dialogue, without needing sub-titles.
