Students taking part in National Storytelling Week 2026

National Storytelling Week 2026 ( Published: 06/02/2026)

This week, our students took part in National Storytelling Week, celebrating the joy of stories through this year’s theme – ‘Soundtrack Your Story’.

Pupils explored how music, sound and rhythm can bring stories to life and inspire creative writing. They joined storytelling activities and workshops, created their own story ideas, and experimented with using sound and performance to share meaning and emotion. The week helped build confidence in reading and writing for pleasure, while encouraging imagination, expression and teamwork. We’re proud of the creativity and enthusiasm shown by everyone involved.

National Storytelling Week showed us how powerful the arts are in bringing stories to life. Music, sound and performance helped our students connect with their ideas and share them with confidence. It turned storytelling from something we simply read into something we could truly feel and experience.
